Title: Dead Heart in a Dead World Company: Andres De La hoz Genre: Short Film Reviewed By: Redwampa 8/10 Summary: Hmmm... Well I was quite surprised with this movie from the very start. I mean when It first loaded up and I saw only one character on the left, I was like what the Fubar?!! How the hell can you make a movie with just one character?! Then again I only used 2 for NUTS2, Im begining to see the future of 3dmm movies here.... wierd. Anyway, the very first 3dmm film Ive seen here thats in total black/gray and white all the while keeping camera movement and action very upbeat and never has a dull moment. Even the animation of the "being" was great as well as the fight scenes, not to mention the kewl looking ghost/futuristic town it takes place in. The movie even gives off a depressive feeling to it throughout its length. There were only a few things I found wrong with this movie: Voices: Most of the time I was like "What?! Could you speak up over the background music please?" I accually had to go back and listen to them, after all, without them this movie would have no plot what so ever. From what I could get from that It seems this creature was... created or something and it killed its original creators and ran away... to this town? There better be a part two to this to make things clearer or I'll be pissed. Wide Screen: I'll admit it gives the movie a cenimatic feel but Gahhhh.... thats been done to many times before. Ending: What the hell was that? Does it mean the creature commited suicide? Why the hell would it do that if it fought the other guy so damned hard? I just wish Andres included a better background story in the form of a scrolling text box or something before the movie started. Like maybe it was the robots father or something and thats why it commited suicide.... I dunno. Or when it killed its creators it could of shown it killing some lab guys while they were working on the robot. While screams are heard and blood is splatterd it slowly moves up to the robots face while its lying on the table. The robot only remembers bits and pieces of this memory as it walks around the town. Bottom Line: A superb movie with only a few flaws keep this movie from being one of my favorites.
