Title: Generation X Company/Director: Rhys Halliwell Genre: Drama Reviewed by MidbackMan Summary: A short drama about a kid who doesn't listen to sound advice and reaps the consequences. Scale: 1 to 10: Very Bad A film of just terrible Quality; Don't bother 11 to 20: Bad A few slightly redeeming qualities but still not worth your time 21 to 30: It's okay Very ordinary technical stats; Not worthless but not great 31 to 40: Good Above average; Usually recommended to the fan of the specific genre 41 to 50: Very Good Well worth your attention; Content and design are spectacular Review: All the drama's I've seen in the past on 3dmm are all shorts. What's with that? It's still good of course, the fact that most of the 3dmm dramas are short seems to make it easier for Director's to put some good effects into it unlike if it were a long film. That's too bad as it makes it a little less original and just seems like more of the same stuff we've seen before so many times. For some reason it's like every director is making a short drama... They're short so they're easy to make and people like 'em so I'll make one and get a lot of recognition is probably what these director's are thinking. That's not at all a bad plan, though. It's just too bad we can't have more longer dramatic movies. I guess if there were a lot of them we'd get sick of them. Truthfully, I suppose it's better that 'good' and long movies are a rarity as it probably makes us enjoy them more. Let's get to this movie. The story is the usual stuff. I don't care how many different stories people can come up with for 'drama' movies, they all seem to have the same effect. It matters not what it's about to me. It could be about a Clown who gets stuck up an Elephant's butt and if it was mixed with some good music and some fade in and fade out effects you'd have a 'good' drama, according to some people. So, going by that I'm giving this film a shorter score in the Creativity department. The actual story in this movie is about a kid who goes out and gets drunk at a party and then drives home really quick to deal with something and gets into an accident on the way home. There, that's it. The ending is somewhat of a 'Twilight Zone' ending but not as 'creative' or as weird as the Twilight Zone. The voices were annoying. They were of horrible quality except in one scene where I thought they were used well. There was a scene where the kid was waking up and he couldn't hear very well so the voices sounded like they were far away. If you've ever come out of anesthesia then you might know what I'm talking about. I hope this was implemented purposely by the director since it was a nice touch but as far as the rest of the voices went, they were of pretty bad quality, including things like squeaks and breathing into the mic or worst of all and most apparent in the film were that they were so loud it really sounded like they were talking into a mic and not in the film. It's a shame when bad voices are used into movies and I struggle to get all Director's and Actor's to check their voices before using them in the film in order to make a more enjoyable movie experience for everyone. Story: 4/10 Graphics: 7/10 Creativity: 4/10 Voices: 4/10 Music: 8/10 Total: 27/50 (Twenty-Seven) The Movies Highs: *Nice 'fast' scenery *Flashbacks (watch the movie & see for yourself) *Good music *A cool voice effect during one scene (mentioned in review) The Movies Lows: *Voice Qaulity wasn't all that great at times when it was supposed to be. *Some people are turned off by the quick flashbacks Bottom Line: A nice short drama. It seems there's a lot of these out now, which makes it less appealing but still worth the download if you want a good short with dramatic effect.
