Title: Goomba 2 Company/Director: Mike Belfance Genre: Horror-Comedy Reviewed by MidbackMan Summary: A Goomba escapes from the Video Game World & the kind folks at the Nintendo Corporation figure out a plan to stop it from ravaging the world... which it's doing... it's ravaging the world... shutup... Scale: 1 to 10: Very Bad A film of just terrible Quality; Don't bother 11 to 20: Bad A few slightly redeeming qualities but still not worth your time 21 to 30: It's okay Very ordinary technical stats; Not worthless but not great 31 to 40: Good Above average; Usually recommended to the fan of the specific genre 41 to 50: Very Good Well worth your attention; Content and design are spectacular Review: This movie has a really cool plot. I haven't seen the first Goomba (yet) but be sure that now that I've seen this I WILL go back and watch the previous movie. It's about a Goomba (one of those mushroom bad guys from Mario, come on you know what a Goomba is) who comes out of the Video Game World to the 'real' world because of a screw up in the device that sent the Goomba back to the Video Game World in the 1st movie. I thought it was a really cool idea and it made me miss seeing Goomba 1. I'm downloading the original Goomba as soon as possible! I won't give away more of the plot, since you have to see it on your own to enjoy it the most but it's good stuff. The acting of the human voices was the first thing I noticed. It's not all that great and it's kind of bland and uninteresting. It's mainly there to get the point across and not steal the show from the real interest: The Goomba. The Goomba is played by a bunch of drops from shows and movies like the Simpsons, Austin Powers, and some Jim Carrey movies. It's really funny stuff and the drops used went perfectly, not to mention added a bit of comedy to the movie that made it even more enjoyable. The music was mostly MIDIS from what I can remember. That's okay with me since they were good midis and went with the scene they played in. Some people don't like MIDIS for some reason, I don't know why... All in all I really like this movie, it has a few flaws. Some of the animation feels a bit 'last year' as someone from Beverly Hills might say but it's still really well paced and doesn't get boring at all. In order to motivate you a little more to go watch this movie if you haven't already, I'm giving this Midback's Steakhouse Seal of Approval. Story: 9/10 Graphics: 6/10 Creativity: 8/10 Voices: 4/10 Music: 8/10 Total: 35/50 (Thirty-Five) The Movies Highs: *Awesome Plot & Story *Funny Goomba Voices *Nice pace; doesn't get boring *Good stuff all around The Movies Lows: *Old looking type animations (but that might not be so bad) *Some people don't like MIDIS (I, however thought they fit perfectly) *Stale voice acting for human characters Bottom Line: This is a really good movie that I am awarding with MidbackMan's Seal of Approval because I just liked it that much! I wasn't gonna write out a full review since it's almost 2AM right now (as I'm writing this, it may or may not be 2AM when you read this) but it was just so entertaining that I had to write a full out review with tech scores. Entertainment, that's what it's all about! NOTE TO READER: Take notice that the technical scores are just that: Technical Scores. The review will contain an opinion of how enjoyable the movie was overall. The Tech Scale may not reflect the opinions in the written review. As always if you agree or disagree with any of the opinions or technical scores in this article please feel free NOT to take it up with MidbackMan or the management of Review Central since no one really gives a rats ass about what you have to say. That's why you're at this site.
