Title: Granchis Company/Director: Ezequiel Villahoz Genre: Short Action-Comedy?? Reviewed By: MidbackMan 6/10 Okay, now first off I have to mention that I've talked to Zeke, the director of this movie, on ICQ many a time and his grasp of English is very good, seeing as how he speaks Spanish as a first language and comparing him to most of the people his age and in the 3dmm community who themselves have a meager understanding of their own first language, i think Zeke does pretty good for himself. Unfortunately, in this movie, the grammar of the English subtitles are pretty poor. Fortunately, that makes the movie even more funny. The entire movie is in Spanish. It's a short movie about a kid who gets dirty playing in his yard and goes inside to his Washer and asks two little props with eyes and mouths who are pictured on a soap box (I THINK) if they'll help him clean his shirt. The comedy comes in when you hear the spanish dialogue and read the very plain English subtitles. It's the bad grammar and the light feeling in the beginning of the movie that makes it funny. The whole movie feels exactly like that corny Spanish programming on your local Spanish Channel that you might have. We have it here and those shows are hilarious. I don't know if you get what I'm saying but if and when you watch the movie you'll understand what I mean. I don't know if this was intentional but it is damn funny to see. In the end there's some action and the two little props that talk go nuts and tie up the kid and stick his dog up his ass and then go upstairs and music plays for a couple minutes while nothing happens and then there are some end notes that mention Granchis 2. The end shows off a somewhat newbie style and the jokes near the end along with the whole action part of it seemed rather lame. However, the good scenery and animation and mix of "happy" music and the corny Spanish style in the beginning offset that and make something very original and something worth more points.
