Title: In the name of Christ Company/Director: Rudi Edsall & Tristan Orr Genre: Action Reviewed by MidbackMan Summary: An Action-thriller movie I guess you could call it. Scale: 1 to 10: Very Bad A film of just terrible Quality; Don't bother 11 to 20: Bad A few slightly redeeming qualities but still not worth your time 21 to 30: It's okay Very ordinary technical stats; Not worthless but not great 31 to 40: Good Above average; Usually recommended to the fan of the specific genre 41 to 50: Very Good Well worth your attention; Content and design are spectacular Review: Okay, first off, there are some really strange things that happen in this movie that defy logic. It's an action movie but is it supposed to be half comedy? Near the beginning of the movie a dude jumps from a plane and this other guy jumps after him because the first guy had the last parachute. I didn't see the plane on fire or anything so I wondered why he didn't just LAND THE PLANE! And also, as everyone knows... falling after someone to grab a parachute off of someone's back is impossible since all objects fall at the same rate of speed. Did you know that? Lesse, what else? Oh, another scene has the main character shooting a bunch of people near the beginning when he's on his first case (he's a cop I guess) and I don't know why he's shooting them. There's a lot of shooting, by the way. It's pretty lame shooting too. The action is slow and boring. Click and drag stuff. ANYWAY, this dude for some reason decided to not kill the last two guys but to slowly run out the door and shoot instantly into a snowboarding scene for some reason which led to a cliff (do all ski resorts have deadly cliffs on their hills?) and a jump onto a helicopter with more bad guys. Other stupid things include: A car chase scene where one of the cars jumps into the air for a second or two for no good reason; the main character's partner calls his 'boss' who I thought was the Police Chief who they both reported too but apparently he was reporting to the bad guy or something I don't really know or care but the main character decided to try to kill his partner because he saw him on the phone or something talking and he knew it was the bad guy he was calling boss... umm, if you got all that you're smart. THEN, the guy gets caught and more stuff happens... The main character - the hero, gets caught by the bad guys and isn't killed but rather put up on a rope that lowers extremely slow into a vat of acid and of course the bad guy boss leaves and then two henchmen decide to fool with him of course which leads to them being killed and another really badly animated car chase. The movie does have a really cool plot. It's about some serial killer who writes "In the Name of Christ" in people's chests after he kills them because they're heathens or something and then refers to himself as a political genius... okay. And the main character likes to kill people because they're not him. Or at least that's what I got out of it... No, toward the end the movie actually gets a lot better. The plot is really one of the better things in the movie since the animation and scenery was a bore. Some of the scenes were cool to look at but at the beginning and in the very end there were really no scenes to speak of. When you see it you'll understand. The voices were bad. Yes, bad. And that's without the music that mutes them almost completely. I think I saw a subtitle once. Just once. And it was in the normal font - yellow and the name of the movie was hard to read and umm, what else can I think about this movie that I don't like... Hold on give me a minute... Well, basically, a lot of stupid crap happens. The animation was a bore but in the end the movie got a lot better plot wise. The dialogue could be pretty stupid but compared to most 3dmm action this isn't all that bad. Most of the time I think to myself that animation can make or break a movie and if that were really true I would tell you that I think this worthless sewage should be thrown into the abyss of oblivion. But, I didn't mind watching it. All that crap above - the mistakes I pointed out, I guess the movie had an impact on me. After reading this review do you think I like or hate this movie? I guess we'll never know... A Steakhouse Seal of Approval should clear that up. Story: 8/10 Graphics: 4/10 Creativity: 8/10 Voices: 3/10 Music: 6/10 Total: 29/50 (Twenty-Nine) The Movies Highs: * Some decent scenery * Good music * Awesome Plot that really shines in the end The Movies Lows: * Low Voices Muted more by Music * Sloppy/Slow animation; What's going on? * A few premade 3dmm scenes that don't fit at all * I saw a subtitle or two (shame) Bottom Line: I don't mind giving this Midback's Steakhouse Seal of Approval for it's cool action type plot. Hey, I thought it was cool. Sometimes weird things happened though. NOTE TO READER: Take notice that the technical scores are just that: Technical Scores.
