Title: Ninja Gaiden Company: Gorosaurus Genre: Short Film/Action Reviewed By: Redwampa 9/10 Summary: When first downloading this film all I knew was that it was about a Ninja since I had mostly ignored any topic that discussed this film. Like with any other film it was only because I didnt want to know what alot of peoples opinions of it was so as to not affect mine, yes. First, I'd like to get off the bad....well its not really "bad" per say, more like "not sure how to take this". To start off with was the opening, the entire sequence was taken from the game Ninja Gaiden... at least I think so... I mean only played the beginning of the first one. Now does this show a lack of creativity or dedication/homage to the game? Was the entire movie just a remake of scenes from the Ninja Gaiden games? Im not sure. How am I supposed to rate something that borrows heavily from another persons work? Well, Ive done it in the past so here goes: Basically this movie is about a son avenging his fathers death, short and to the point. Well, okay, bottom line I liked this movie. The animation and the way it was shot was excellent even if it was based off the games its still an amazing feat to pull off in 3dmm. I loved how the ninja moved around and for a time I forgot I was watching a 3dmm movie. Its also damn artistic how it moves from 2D to 3D environments. The characters even give nicely done facial expressions and the whole movie is shot like it was a anime film. As far as scenery goes it varies, from the highly detailed to just a black background with some windows for the action scenes. Truth be told you dont even notice the lack of scenery at these points because your to focused on the characters moving around and reacting to things. Music, well Im guessing its also from the Ninja Gaiden games and really only helps to compliment key scenes and stays in the background when needed. Could of used a little more sound in places but hey Im not complaining, it got the job done. To sum it up: A fast paced anime action movie thats short but heavily animated and is a nice homage to the games of Ninja Gaiden.
