Title: The Showdown Company/Director: Adrian Pikios & Redwampa Genre: Fairly Short Action/Musical Reviewed by MidbackMan Summary: I couldn't think of what genre of 3dmm movie to put this in so I suppose it's in it's own category. It's an action that takes after the events of WIll Maltby's Bulletin Board Vigilante. Scale: 1 to 10: Very Bad A film of just terrible Quality; Don't bother 11 to 20: Bad A few slightly redeeming qualities but still not worth your time 21 to 30: It's okay Very ordinary technical stats; Not worthless but not great 31 to 40: Good Above average; Usually recommended to the fan of the specific genre 41 to 50: Very Good Well worth your attention; Content and design are spectacular Review: First off, look at the technical scores before you read this review. They're mostly low scores, with the exception of the Graphics category. That's just the way it is. I didn't find anything about it that showed off something worth an exceptional score, as so many 3dmmers who watched this movie seemed to think it was worth. Maybe they're easier to please than I am. Now, the graphics were something good. Some of the backdrop was fairly plain at times and nothing to gawk at but there were some really cool scenes and the movement of characters all around was really neat as well as the camera angle of one particular scene where a massive monster comes out of the ground and yells you see him getting larger and larger as he emerges from the ground and that you get a really cool effect of something that's really large. There was also a pretty cool scene right after that where walking dead came out of their graves and bats spewed from the monster's mouth. The monster himself was pretty bland. It made me want to animate my own monster but I looked at the one in this film and thought that this was little more 'plain' than what I wanted to do. Just so you get an idea of what it was, is all. The story is just an action flick. Pointless, somebody - Pikios I imagine since he seemed to control all of his own little Pikios-type minions from his movies in this movie, finds what Will Maltby had done to the 3dmm Bulletin Board in BUlletin Board Vigilante and goes after him to kill him but the aforementioned Monster comes and ruins the party and the Will and the "Pikios-character" of course have to stop him from... being... I guess. And that's how it always is... The music was dramatic but didn't fit all of the time and pused the movie's file size up there. Voices were very few but I did hear a neat high pitched yell that emphasized falling down pretty well. Sound effects could have been used better I thought, though. Story: 3/10 Graphics: 8/10 Creativity: 5/10 Voices: 2/10 Music: 5/10 Total: 23/50 (Twenty-Three) The Movies Highs: *A great animation showcase The Movies Lows: *The usual with some good effects thrown in for good measure Bottom Line: eh *shrugs shoulders*... It's got some cool animation but I didn't really enjoy it that much. I wasn't entertained for very long. If you liked movies like Lethal Intention that had cool action but a plot that wasn't bothered with then go ahead.
