Title: The World Around Igby Director: Buz Von Lurt Reviewer: Tuna Hematoma Depth - 7/15 Animation - 6/10 Music - 4/10 Sound Effects - 7/10 Balance - 6/10 Innovation - 7/10 Extras - 5/5 Total - 42/70 (3 Fish) Can Buz go from slapstick comedy to drama? The answer is a very clear no. This is sloppy, oddly paced and really rushed movie. I knew as soon as I did voices, the script wasn't that good, but there a lots of movies that don't have the strongest scripts, but are still pretty good because of the direction, but because this is extremely rushed, the direction wasn't up to par as well. First off, I'd like to apologize to Buz for not doing the best of voices, even though he thinks differently. I didn't like the script that much, so I didn't even really put an effort into any of my lines... that and I just got off work and was really freakin tired. So yeah, most (maybe all) my voices suck and I had like... almost a 100 of them, so that didn't make the movie any better. While watching it, I kind of cringed because I also did a rush job. Speaking of rushing, the whole movie is rushed, I mean, in the opening dialogue, Buz repeats the same scenes like... I dunno, it seemed like 12 times and was just plain funny to watch, because I have taken the same measures with my lazyness... but I make comedies so it's funny (to me) and it just doesn't work for drama's. The scenery was alright, but there were many times when I asked myself if Jeff Ching made some of the scenes as some of the characters seemed like they were 3 feet tall, which would be fine if they were midgets, but I am guessing they're not, as in other scenes, they were "normal" size. The most annoying thing about this movie is the voices and music. It's like Buz just finished the movie, uploaded it and totally forgot to edit the movie. The music drowned out the voies, some voices were quiet then loud. To top that, most of the voices overlapped each other and either played at the same time, or made a current line stop and the other just start... it was really painful to watch. It's sad to see Buz go from the enjoyable Pirates, then go to this movie, but it's sadder that the reaction of people will make him not make any more movies. All he needs to do is focus more of direction style and things would be a lot better, as his Pirates movie wasn't greatly directed, but it was funny, so it didn't matter. This movie focused more on plot and when you do that, your direction needs to be a lot better, as it will keep the attention of the audience. Apparently Buz "stole" music from Evan Strobel's "Whitman" movie which was, composed by Ramza, but I haven't seen it and don't really care, as most of Strobel movies are boring and Ramza isn't the best of "composers"... I don't see what the problem is, everyone steals from other 3dmm movies, it was bound to happen. Anyway, this movie isn't good and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I hope that Buz will come out with at least one more movie to make up for the poor quality of this one. I know he has talent, he just needs to take time to show it.
