Title: Wrestlemania 5000 Company: Nick the Almighty Genre: Short Film Reviewed By: Redwampa Summary: 9/10 Well to start off with I decided to use a more simple rating scale than the ones I do use for "long" movies. After factoring it in it got about a 35/50 which just didnt reflect at how much I was impressed by this movie. I mean its a wrestling movie not one that has a climax, man vs nature, man vs machine kinda deal, it just a simple wrestling movie, things such as a complex plot just dont factor into here. Okay well this is one hell of a movie for Nick to retire on, I mean its got one hell of alot of kick ass fights and camera movement to accompany them. This is very evident in one of the begining fights between Astill and ...... hmmmm..... well some other guy. Its probrobly one of the longest fights in the movie and one of the most creative as the fight spills out from the ring and into the surronding building. It all ends at the top floor where Astill's opponent is thrown off the balcony (In slomo mind you) and tumbles toward the center of the ring with a satisfying splat. After the grudge matches it continues to the rumble (Not a big fan of wrestling so If my ummm... lingo is off just leave me alone.... ), where several community members face off in 4's. Everytime one is killed or thrown out of the ring (Sometimes both) a kewl ass "Eliminated" spins toward the viewer to let them know that they are no longer in the match (obviously). Probrobly the best character would have to be Snell's Smilely and his facial expressions, especially when he's getting his booty kicked. After most of the rumble participants are eliminated including myself.... or was I... yeah I never got a "Eliminated", I demand a rematch!!... Or maybe I missed it. Anyway Brad Ross ends up winning the match with some help from Jeff Ching, heh hehh. I found it amazing how Nick could keep up this movies consistancy and still be able to create one hell of an experience, he even kept up the humor aspect of the movie with quit alot of gags I didnt even see comming. Back stage was a nice change of pace and unlike some people I liked everything about it......, though he could of gotten whoever did Bryans voice for KS4 to well ....... do Bryans voice of course!! But to be a true review I must list a negative, a balance of points to appeal to this movies critics and fans alike. Lets see.............hmmmmm....... well I didnt see the point of having Nick explain to Andrez why he wasnt in the match. I mean I expecting for him to go "Yeah, so Andrez you wernt in the match because uhhh...." then he head buts em and stops his face in "Because I said so BITCH!!". Then walks off. But little does he know that out of Andrez's broken body emerges the DHIADW creature that sprints after Nick and tackles him to the ground. Then they fight really fast, after awhile Nick looses and runs up the stairs to the top floor. Andres gives chase and finds Nick pearched on the balcony rail as a fake sun rises on the W5k rings monitor. Nick looks back sadly and plunges to his death to smash his body against the bouncy floor of the ring. Hmmm..I guess that would of been a good ending.... or an outtake. Well hats off to you Nick and W5k.
