Title: Alternate Vlarion 2 FINAL Company/Director: Ultima Productions/Aaron Haynes What the Hell is it: Like one of them Console RPG games for SNES but without the playing part Reviewed By: MidbackMan 5/10 Okay, this is a short review for a long movie. I've not done a review in a long time, really there's been nothing worth reviewing come out for a long time at the time of this review so I needed to review SOMETHING! It's April Fool's Day Yesterday so I figured what better day to write a review on than a day for tomfoolery. Of course, that day's passed and here we have April 2nd. ANYWAY, Yadda Yadda Yadda, it's LONG, there's LOTS of text. Most of the dialogue is boring poop but some of it is kinda interesting to read. Thank God at least there's SOMETHING to read cuz it'd get mighty boring in all those newbie scenes that don't move and just plain suck of suckness. Though I've never seen the first in this series I picked it up after the first couple scenes pretty easily. Sadly, because I missed the first movie, some of the plot in the beginning seemed silly. Just... silly. That is all. If you've never seen the movie before or the first or the third (which is out by now) then you'd know this is a kind of RPG Movie. It's like one of those console RPGs you may or may not have played on systems like the SNES. Games like Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger would be fair comparisons with this movie cuz there's fighting and turn based hits, the equipping of weapons and even those little hit points that show up in some RPG games whenever someone does score a hit - though, you won't know what the enemy or the good guy's HP is and no good guys die and there's a very big lack of dramatic-ness so it can be kind of boring or awkward. BUT! and this is a big butt and is what is making me give this movie all the way to a five out of ten instead of a one out of ten in the score up top: the sword fighting and attacks! They just rule! The scenery is good SOMETIMES and helps and other times it's just plain old premade shit and it never really gets beyond half-newbie but the animation of the attacks is really nifty and i actually enjoyed watching the movie because of 'em. On the downside, the movie is rather long and I don't doubt that there aren't a lot of people who want to or are willing to sit through that long of a movie (especially a text only movie with scenes that don't move) just to see a couple cool sword tricks. Still... yer call... If you wanted to skip the movie and go straight to the semi-coolness go to the following scenes: Scene - 8 Frame - 130 = DEFEAT BRIAN!! Scene - 15 Frame - 166 = DESTROY RASKLAIN!! Scene - 39 Frame - 1 = DESTROY KRIVEN!! Scene 51 Frame - 355 = Just some quick swordplay i liked Scene - 55 Frame - 1 = DEFEAT KRAMER!!
