There's a very well done beginning, with good dialogue and scenes. Delving further into the film will show some very detailed scenery. Going even further into the movie (mostly in the entire 2nd half of the film) is where things go wrong in 3dmm land. The dialogue is often drowned out a bit by some music. Not much but I still had to turn my speakers up and listen carefully. Sometimes though, the acting was very well done. Even the main character's wife (who's played by a guy) was acted well. Probably partly due to a good script. The scenery, as I said was very detailed. Sometimes, though, like in fight scenes or in "fast" scenes, the scenery was mostly a black screen or almost a black screen with a character on it. This made it a bit confusing during a couple parts where I didn't know where people were going. The animation wasn't so hot, either. A lot of times people are just clicked and dragged across from point A to point B. It didn't seem too much of a bother in the beginning but in scenes such as the car chase in the movie (which no movie is complete without might I add) just seemed like they weren't so fast paced. I don't know if it was exactly click and drag animation but my point is that it didn't seem too rapid and with that the music in quite a few of the action scenes didn't fit. The dramatic music fit perfectly, however. I thought it was used well and helped the drama be more effective. The best part of the movie was the story. The camera angles in the scenes were just right and the dialogue wasn't cheesy. This improved the story a lot. Anyone can write a story. If you can pull off an average story and make it great with good cinematography and good use of music and sounds then a good Directer are you. My favorite scene was near the beginning of the film, where the main character is awakening from a dream he has just had and the whole scene from there on was very well done. Nothing was stupid or silly, everything seemed very professional. Hell, even a chick giving a guy a BJ was done well. My favorite camera angle would probably be when the picture cuts to the first shot of the main character's phone ringing. It too was also well done. Uhhh well, after it's all said and done the whole second half of the movie was pretty screwed as far as animation and detail but the story did end here and if you want to see the ending then you'll have to sit through the second half. It's not so bad. Those, who aren't anal retentive like me, won't mind it a bit. The story's end is an excellent one, if not a bit cheesy. I still think it's a good ending. SPOILER!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT IT RUINED DON'T READ THIS LAST PARAGRAPH: In the end, you might be thinking, "now why would he sit and talk with the bad guys so casually" but after it was all over I thought it was a very creative ending to the mystery and it was enjoyable. END SPOILER!!! Story: 9/10 Animation: 5/10 Scenery: 7/10 Voices: 6/10 Music: 7/10 Total: 34/50 The Movies Highs: *Great detail in quite a few scenes, especially near the beginning *Great use of "camera positioning" in scenes/felt professional *Good script and some good acting to go with it The Movies Lows: *Lots of places felt like it had Click and Drag Action *Black Screen Scenery in some areas which confused me... *Music drowned some voices in a few areas Bottom Line: A Very decent Dramatic Effect that felt well done in the beginning but let go a little later in part two with some "click and drag action." If you want this movie it's because of it's story. NOTE TO READER: Take notice that the technical scores are just that: Technical Scores.
