Title: Next Generation Company/Director: Rushway Productions/Rhys Halliwell & Mitchell Graham Genre: Short Thriller Movie or something near that genre Reviewed by MidbackMan Scale: 5 to 10: Very Bad A film of just terrible Quality; Don't bother 11 to 20: Bad A few slightly redeeming qualities but still not worth your time 21 to 30: It's okay Very ordinary technical stats; Not worthless but not great 31 to 40: Good Above average; Usually recommended to the fan of the specific genre 41 to 50: Very Good Well worth your attention; Content and design are spectacular Review: Unless Ben Williams comes out with a new movie really quick that's also his best work ever then Rhys Halliwell will be my new favorite drama director in the 3dmm community. I don't know how much of the film he made compared to Mithcell Graham. For all I know, MG could've done more of this than Rhys but i like Rhys' name more and since this is a sequel to a Rhys-only movie (Generation X) then I wanna give mucho credito to Rhys and less to who I will now only call Graham. I've decided Mitchell is too hard to type so starting immediately after this sentence which is currently being read by you, I will not say his first name again. There. But, no, seriously they both are cool if they both did the same amount of work on this movie, I just don't know who did what... Anyone? Okay, anyway, this movie is GOD! I don't wanna go into the story too much or give away any spoilers but it's basically about a kid who gets picked on by some really bad bullies and him and a new friend are taking them on. Okay, see, here's the thing. It's not told as it's happening, though. It's all sort of told in a narrative first person past tense form where the kid is reading a letter he wrote to his Dad telling him all about it. I dunno if what I just said makes sense but if you're not stupid you'll understand the movie and probably like it. What's even better is that it's written extremely well and I didn't feel at any moment that any part of it sucked or was cheesy or had hammy acting. It just plain ruled all the way through. I think once or twice a voice may have stopped prematurely but that's just what I heard and it only bothered me because I am trying to think of SOMETHING bad about this movie, so I stuck that in my mind so I could add it to this review. As if that was enough, Rhys adds a couple very awesome suprises in the story, including the ending which was a suprise that happened right after a suprise in the middle of the story right before the end. It was just one suprise right after another and that was awesome. I won't tell you what it was, it was just wicked cool and I wish more 3dmm movies had cool shit like that in their stories. As of December 16th 2001 this is my favorite movie of the year and I doubt that any movie to come out in the short time of the rest of the year will top this. Story: 10/10 Animation: 10/10 Scenery: 10/10 Voices: 7/10 Music: 10/10 Total: 47/50 The Movies Highs: *Cool animations *Great use of music to fit tensity (is that a word?)/original sounding music *Awesome story/Cool Suprise Ending to an already awesome story with twists and turns The Movies Lows: *Voices sometimes stopped before i thought they were done & sounded weird to me Bottom Line: I like this ten times better than the already cool Generation X and Hell Yeah this movie rocks and I'd recommend it to every 3dmmer to watch! I'm giving this my personal Seal of Approval the Midback's Steakhouse Movie Award cuz it fucking rocks! NOTE TO READER: Take notice that the technical scores are just that: Technical Scores.
