Title: Next Generation Director: Rhys Halliwell Genre: Drama Type: Long... sort of Reviewer: Tuna Hematoma Depth - 4/15 Animation - 4/10 Music - 3/10 Sound Effects - 2/10 Balance - 4/10 Innovation - 2/10 Extras - 0/5 Total - 19/70 This movie is supposed to be a drama, but it was more like an extremely cheesy action film... without any action! I mean, it had all the characteristics of a bad action movie. Horrible music, bad sound effects, bad voices and a stupid story trying to come off as "intelligent". This is the sequal to Rhys Halliwell's "Generation X" which was actually quite good. The story takes place a couple years later (I'm guessing) after the first movie and it appears the kid is having trouble in school because a bully is beating him up... but it gets worse... THE BULLY HAS AN EQUALLY EVIL TWIN BROTHER! *GASP!* But don't worry, they have every reason to be evil! They killed people when they were only 10 years old! I know... such a sad thing. Anyway, the kid keeps getting beat up, but alas, some black guy (with boxing attire) comes and saves the day and kicks the crap out of the twins... for what reason? I have no idea... he's black? Well who cares right? They become friends, but one day, while they're hanging by the pool, one of the evil twins grabs the black guy so he can't save his new friend while the other one trys to KILL the other kid. Yes, stressful life for this guy, so the black dude gets out of the hold by killing on of the evil twins with a bar-b-q fork thing. The other twin see's this and takes off. Now what intelligent conclusion did the black guy and other kid come to? Kill the other twin before he kills them! I KNOW! Perfect solution. It's a lot better then my idea, which was for them to call the cops, saying they committed these acts in self-defence, but what the hell was I thinking?? They come up with a great plan of burning the kid alive in his home... but, this is where the drama kicks in, SOMETHING GOES WRONG AND IT BACKFIRES ON THE KID!!! OH MY GOD! DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!! (please notice the heightened sarcasm) When it goes wrong, police come, and what does the guy do? Pull out a gun he, for some reason unknown, took from his house and started shooting at the police officer. He amazingly gets away by diving over his car and driving away, without the police chasing after him. He gets home, but his Dad is leaving somewhere... and then the movie gets even worse. He leaves his Dad a letter (which is being said throughout the movie) saying what's going on... then when the Dad reads it, you hear a gunshot, expecting that he killed himself... over a letter... but no, the kid appearently came back and wakes up his father from sleeping in the hallway (HAHA)... Then there's a confusing ending... yes... This gets my award for best "What the hell?!" ending. It's not the type of ending that you can analyze, it's the type that you guess what happens, because it's just demented and any explanation won't make the ending clear... it's just stupid and should have ended at the credits. As you can tell, I didn't like this movie at all, the voices were bad, the music was from popular movies, the sound effects for people being injured made me laugh and the plot is one of the biggest piles of monkey stinks I have ever witnessed. OH! OH!! and while in school, Rhys has the "Blake Walker" disease, as in, the tables have no legs to keep them standing erect! HAHAHA... man that's greatness.
