Title: Outlaw Commandos 3 Director: Alan Burnett Genre: Action Review by: MidbackMan 5/10 Review: Outlaw Commandos has been in the works for a long time, And yet it still seems to kinda manage to look like it took a week to make. If you don't know, I do know the dude who put this film together so it was a bit more enjoyable for me but I've become accustom to new types of animation and good scenery, which this movie has not. Even though this director has had 3dmm for a while, he hasn't learned any "cool" techniques. So, he's sort of like a newbie times ten. In other words, the guy who knows how to use 3dmm to make a movie but doesn't bother making good scenery. Speaking of scenery, a lot of it is premade stuff. His excuse is that that's enough to get across what's goin' on. I'm just bored with that stuff. Later on in the film, though there are a couple decent looking scenes. The highway scene in this movie is alright. There should've been more detail in scenery like in that but the rest of it is mostly one or two blocks or a spinning block for the ground when he needed to make it seem like a car was moving fast over the ground. It's all kinda old school/newbie crap, including MIDIS in a bunch of places and humor that's funny only when YOU think of it. This would've gotten a better review from me if this came out a while back or if the humor remained. The music in it wasn't all MIDIs. There were some cool songs in it that I liked but were standard action music and nothing hella-special. The story is pretty gone. It seems these movies are arriving in episodes and to even "get" the movie you'll have to know the story from the beginning or it'll seem like another Pointless Action Movie, which it is anyway, I suppose. The Outlaw Commandos that arrived before this one was fairly funny but in OC3, the director seemed to remove the comedy from it in favor for more "action." The action wasn't all that great, though. It had some cool ideas and a few cool effects but a lot of times there was "slow kicking" and music that was too fast for the scene. Besides some cool ideas, the only other thing I liked about the movie were the ending and the abrupt stop in the middle of the film where the Director explains why his movie has taken so long to be completed and that the rest of the film will be much improved. The rest of the film, from that point I'm talking about was improved but only slightly. It's like going from your first film to your second... and you still haven't learned any cool effects. That's what the difference between the first and second half was like. I just thought it was funny how it was taken seriously, about how people should take into consideration how long it took to make the film. Feh. Al, you're animation suck-diddly-ucks and I'm willing to bet that it won't be much improved in Outlaw Commandos 4,which is being made as this review is being written. If you don't mind some old school crap you might get a small kick out of this. I seem to recall one's opinion on this movie: "It's funny because of how cheap it is!" That pretty much sums it up.
